hertz car rental
One of the most recognizable brand names when it comes to car rental, Hertz Rent-A-Car has been in business for 80 years and is the largest car rental company in the world. In 1918, Walter L. Jacaobs, the pioneer of auto renting, started a small company that soon turned into a million dollar per year business. In 1923, Jacobs sold his company to a young John Hertz, and the Hertz legacy was born.
Hertz Rent-A-Car currently has 1,900 locations throughout the United States, as well as an additional 5,100 International locations throughout 150 foreign countries. Hertz is so large, in fact, that the company is responsible for taking 30 million car rental reservations annually, simply a staggering figure. In 2001, Hertz became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company, a relationship that has only furthered Hertz's already booming car rental business.
