alamo car rental
The place? Florida. The year? 1974. Alamo Rent-A-Car opened its first 4 locations, starting what would become one of the more successful rental car companies in the United States. Whereas the majority of rental car companies focus their attention and their business on a bustling airport market, Alamo got its start through the leisure market, as one of the nation's largest vacation rental providers, encouraging leisure travel and pioneering the concept of unlimited free mileage, a feature that is now commonplace amongst all companies within the car rental industry. In 1995, Alamo continued to take car rental into the future, becoming the first rental company to provide real-time booking capabilities online, allowing customers to view deals/cars/features/availability/locations, all from the comfort of their own home.
The connection between Alamo's origins in Florida, and their focus on spearheading the leisure market, continue to push Alamo to the top of the industry. In 2002, Alamo announced a partnership with fellow Florida based leisure company, Walt Disney World Resort, as well as Disneyland Resort, through which special deals and programs have been manufactured to promote travel to these Disney sponsored locales.
Alamo currently has approximately 1,200 locations throughout the U.S, Canada, Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean.
